Customized Hairpieces Made from Synthetic Material Give Natural Look

Hair loss has been a universal problem always but it has come to the limelight like never before. Celebrities who cannot escape piercing eyes about their appearance and clothes are more stressed to sport beautiful or at least acceptable amount of hair.

Whether they are from the royal families or acting profession or from the sports field, celebrities attract attention to their heads. This makes it necessary for them to hide under wigs and scarves and hats or try medication and other methods like hair transplants and so on.

According to available statistics about 50 million men and 30 million
women in the United States experience acute hair loss owing to androgenic alopecia, chemotherapy, psychological problems, medication and because of using styling products.

Statistics also reveals that the designer hairpieces market is burgeoning which is evident the fact that over $1.3 billion worth of raw human hair was imported to the United States in 2011.

A specialist among such designers is Edward Katz of Edward Katz Hair Designs in Universal City who creates hand-designed hairpieces and also facial hair for actors appearing in Hollywood movies besides also for actors performing for the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Katz opines that natural looking hair does wonders for a man’s life in terms of building his self-esteem and confidence, hence spending on a good hairpiece even if exorbitant is justified.

The hairpieces created by him are made of high-quality synthetic hair which is manufactured at a factory in Universal City in the United States and hence very expensive than if it is made overseas but the product quality and customization is optimum.

Synthetic hair, according to Katz is better as it allows layered styles and short hair and can be made to match the thickness of the user’s hair. Furthermore it allows greater creativity in colors that match natural hair and shades.

The difference between the existing natural hair and Katz’ hairpiece is hard to detect. Natural human hair is also used to make the soft front hairline in the hairpieces.

Unlike Katz who makes hairpieces for men only, Farrell Hair Replacement in Hollywood and Thursday’s salon and spa in Calabasas create hair pieces for men and women.

Thursday’s owner, Jill Sugar states that her salon used to get more male patients previously but now the number of female patients has increased. This is not because they are having problems only now. It is just that women have started to look for alternatives instead of hiding under wigs and scarves and not taking part in activities like swimming etc.

There are more options available now than ever before ranging from cosmetic solutions, medications, laser and surgical methods.
