Thomas L. Tzikas, M.D. is a board certified facial plastic surgeon in Delray Beach, FL.  A noted surgeon and lecturer who is dedicated to the advancement of cosmetic surgery.  Dr. Tzikas is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Tzikas, a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, trained in general surgery at Yale University in Connecticut and in head & neck surgery and facial plastic surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC.  He has practiced cosmetic and reconstructive surgery for more than ten years.

  His training and background as a facial plastic surgeon has allowed him to create a different technique for closing the donor area which he calls the "Plastic surgery Dove Tail Closure".  This is a modified version of the "Dove Tail Closure" that was developed by his late friend and colleague Dr. CP Chambers who was a pioneer in the field of hair restoration.

Dr. Tzikas has also developed his own special tools to create the recipient incisions for graft placement.  This allows for more precise depth and width of incision to lessen the possibility of improper graft placement and reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs when the hair starts to grow.
